Experience and Education
Dan grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. He attended McMaster University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, and then Dalhousie University, where he received his Master of Arts degree. Prior to entering law, he was an IT consultant and one of the founders of a technology strategy company. Dan attended law school at the University of Calgary, where he was an active participant in the mooting and debating programs and various faculty committees. He received his law degree in 2007 and was the silver medallist of his graduating class.
Dan summered with a national firm in Calgary, and completed a clerkship with the Alberta Court of Appeal prior to moving to Kelowna in 2008.

Dan also enjoys spending time with his two young children, mountain biking,
and renovating his house. Dan is an avid supporter of the Okanagan
Symphony and its music director (and his wife), Rosemary Thomson.
