Experience and Education
Donald Lewthwaite was raised in Kelowna and then attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees, graduating in 1978. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1979 and the Alberta Bar in 1980 where he practised for seven years before returning to Kelowna.
Mr. Lewthwaite's practice is focused on civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defence and municipal liability. Mr. Lewthwaite regularly represents a number of national and international insurance companies. He also acts for the City of Kelowna in the defence of tort claims against the municipality. Additionally, Mr. Lewthwaite represents clients involved in complex commercial and construction litigation.
