Kelowna Bar Association 2010/11 Board Announced
FH&P's Heidi Taylor takes over as President

FH&P Lawyers are happy to announce the appointment of Heidi Taylor as President of the Kelowna Bar Association for 2010/11.
The Kelowna Bar Association is key in developing and maintaining a sense of camaraderie in the local legal profession and is involved in a number of community initiatives.
This includes:
- hosting monthly lunches for Kelowna lawyers with professional development speakers
- hosting receptions following call ceremonies, which are held when lawyers are admitted to the Bar in BC
- hosting the Battle of the Bar Bands in support of the lawyers benevolent fund (biennial event)
- running law day at the courthouse (annual event)
- arranging social events for our lawyers throughout the year
- donating to local scholarship funds (OC, UBC, UVic)
- supporting events such as the Pro Bono Legal Advice Clinic
- providing input to government on new legislation which may effect the profession
Heidi takes over from Taryn Moore, who remains on the board as Past President. Laura Myles is the newly elected Director-At-Large. Other board members are: Norm Yates, Vice President; Deanna Stone, Treasurer; Charlotte Keis, Secretary.
Heidi's term as president runs until September 2011.
