Lawyer, Colin Flannigan, will be speaking at the Bank of Montreal buying your home seminar on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

The complimentary seminar will take place at Blenz Coffee at the Innovation Centre, 104-460 Doyle Ave from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Showing you the steps to buying a home,
  • Financing options available to you,
  • And, how pre-arranging your mortgage can make house hunting easier.

Mr. Flannigan will discuss what role a lawyer plays in a purchase of a new home, what expenses are involved in buying a property and how they are paid. He will also touch on the specific legal issues such as co-ownership, Property Transfer Tax (new rules included), and charges on title.

For those who are buying to rent, Mr. Flannigan will review what considerations are available to those who are getting into the revenue generating market. The main point that he will discuss is the Residential Tenancy Act and obligations as a landlord. Lastly, he will talk about liability and incorporation when buying to rent.
