In British Columbia there is a Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act and chances are as a consumer, you have no idea this exists and how much it could help you.
Whether you own a business or are making a purchase at a store the Consumer Protection Act can come into play. However, in Tanvir’s story she needed a different kind of protection when her phone rang. She tells a hilarious story about a recent Christmas purchase.
This Act even discusses the process of debt collectors and how heavily regulated they are and the practice of debt collection is in BC.
