Take The Family To Law Day On April 25

April 21, 2015 by FH&P Lawyers

On Saturday April 25, 2015, the Kelowna Bar Association is encouraging the community to take the law into their own hands by discovering what it takes to have a career in the legal system.

“So you want to be a….?” is the theme for this year’s Law Day. 70 Girl Guides will be placed under arrest and undergo a mock trial by judge and jury at the Kelowna Law Courts in order to earn their freedom. The arrest and trial proceedings will also serve as a way to expose the public to the legal process and create greater awareness of Canada’s legal system.

For those considering pursuing employment in the legal profession RCMP officers, ambulance attendants, fire fighters, court clerks, registry staff, lawyers and judges will be on hand to field questions about their careers.

Courthouse tours will be available and local community agencies will be on hand to provide information about their organizations.

Law Day is a family friendly event, open to all ages.
