The ins and outs of Directors Liability

January 25, 2022 by Clay Williams, Tanvir Gill

An important topic and matter for many businesses in the Okanagan is liability. It can be beneficial to remove any personal liability when incorporating your business. However, that doesn’t always mean there is no liability, especially if you are a director of the business, someone in charge of the day-to-day management and operation.

In this episode of the Law Talk podcast, lawyers Clay Williams & Tanvir Gill discuss “directors liability” under the Business Corporation Act of BC and the obligations imposed on directors. It’s a topic that is litigated constantly and studied at length in Law School.

This podcast is recorded in the middle of the Omicron wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, with Clay and Tanvir appearing remotely. As always, send your business or corporate legal questions in for Clay and Tanvir to podcast@fhplawyers.com.
