The primary objective of our team is to obtain the full compensation and benefits for our clients to which they are legally entitled.

Partner Rod Pacholzuk is the “P” in FH&P and is one of our experienced lawyers in personal injury law. A frequent question Rod answers when discussing an injury with a client is “How much is my claim worth?” With no “textbook” answer, Rod explains some of the factors to figuring that out.

Transcript:

I practice in the area of personal injury law and one of the most frequent questions that clients ask particularly on initial consultations is what is their claim worth?

Quite frankly every claim is different, every individual is different and personal injury claims involving damage assessment that is made up of several different components. There is pain and suffering, compensation for the injury itself, there is a loss of income both past and future, there are special damages which in layperson's terms would be out-of-pocket expenses associated with the rehabilitation process and incurred in the client’s participation in the litigation process.

There is also a significant consideration called “cost of future care” and that is effectively just what it sounds like, what are the future care requirements an individual will require as a consequence of the injuries sustained? How long will they be required? And what do they cost?

In serious injury claims that can often form the most significant aspect of quantifying an individual's damages.
