April 15, 2021 by Kevin Cheung

Our lawyers at FH&P are skilled and experienced advocates in personal injury-related disputes, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, wrongful death, and major trauma. The primary objective of our team is to obtain the full compensation and benefits for our clients to which they are legally entitled.

Associate Kevin Cheung is often asked about the types of personal injuries our team can assist with. He explains, there really are no limits as injuries affect each person differently.

Transcript:

One of the questions that I am often asked is “What types of personal injuries do you help a client with?”

Really there are no limits to the type of personal injuries, injuries affect people differently. Typically, what we will see are more severe whiplash type cases that have unresolving symptoms despite ongoing treatment. We are also seeing more and more brain injury or concussion cases; this isn't part because there's more awareness around brain injuries. Now these types of injuries can be quite devastating as they can have severe effects on a person's life, and they are invisible injuries in the sense that people can't see the injuries like you can see a broken bone.

Orthopedic injuries are also another type of injuries that we commonly deal with, these are things such as broken bones and these can be quite severe as they can result in chronic pain or early arthritis. Understanding what the diagnosis is for a particular injury is important but equally as important is taking the time to understand how that injury affects a person's life. As I said before injuries affect each person differently and it's important to understand how it affects that particular person, the effects can be quite severe.

With the changes to the insurance regime in BC it is important to speak to a lawyer to understand what your options are. If you would like to speak to us, you can contact us here.
