    The Legal Assistants /Paralegals who join our litigation team will have experience in personal injury, general litigation and insurance defence, including ICBC work.

    We have both a permanent full-time position and a maternity leave position (14-month minimum) currently open. Please specify which one (or both) you are applying for.

    Our ideal Legal Assistant /Paralegal candidates will possess the ability to provide a full range of support services.

    Standard Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of court documents, and drafting correspondence
  • Booking appointments, setting discovery and trial dates, organizing flow of information between parties
  • Filing applications in Supreme and Provincial Courts
  • Organizing case files, client documents and binders
  • Drafting pleadings
  • Preparing and maintaining an extensive “bring forward” system
  • Preparation of monthly accounts and other accounting tasks
  • Recording time for billing purposes
  • Direct contact with clients
  • Dicta-typing
  • Perform other related duties, as required.
  • Qualifications:

  • Diploma from an accredited legal assistant program or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ personal injury / litigation experience / ICBC preferred
  • Must be proficient with litigation procedures and the Rules of Court
  • Advanced computer skills - MS Office (Word, Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
