We are growing and we need a talented person like you to join us! Our Kelowna office has an opening for an Associate Lawyer – Solicitor to support a busy practice.

We are also interested in hearing from lawyers that have practices in the area or practices elsewhere that they would like to service from Kelowna. For an experienced lawyer with a pre-existing practice, we will consider an Associate Counsel arrangement.

Our successful candidate will:

  • Be Legally entitled to practice law in Canada, and a member in good standing with the provincial body;
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience as a solicitor with emphasis on Business Law;
  • Be a strong communicator who is energetic, self-motivated and organized;
  • Have a breadth and depth of technical legal knowledge, excellent business judgement, and strong analytical and drafting skills;
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and client service skills and able to take initiative;
  • Be capable of working independently – able to be flexible and adapt easily to change; and

Our team is a close-knit group that is passionate and enthusiastic, and we are looking for a Legal Assistant – Wills & Estates to join our growing team. Our firm would be open to both Full-Time and Part-Time Hours.

The role will include:

  • Assisting with estate planning and estate administration files
  • Drafting Wills, POA’s, RA’s and other estate and incapacity planning documents
  • Conducting searches, such as corporate, land title and personal property registry
  • Estate Administration files – drafting probate applications
  • Preparing passing of accounts and/or estates administration and matters related to estate litigation
  • Working with clients to gather information and assisting with client meetings
  • Calendar management including arranging meetings and setting appointments
  • Other general duties as required.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Diploma from an accredited legal program or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Wills & Estates preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office
  • Sound judgment in assessing urgency and importance of telephone calls and correspondence
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients and other lawyers
  • Ability to prepare confidential documents with a high level of accuracy

Our team is a close-knit group that is passionate and enthusiastic, and we are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for coordinating all people activities
  • People activities might include Performance Management, Salary Review, Engagement & Recognition, Learning & Development, and other initiatives to drive a healthy cultural.
  • Take care of the whole employee life cycle, from onboarding to off boarding processes, with a large focus on recruiting talented legal professionals (lawyers and support staff).
  • Prepare paperwork in HRIS System, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process.
  • Excel at employees’ data quality in the HR Information Systems (HUMI) and continue to build out the HRIS tool in other areas (e.g., Performance Management and Asset Tracking).
  • Generate official internal documents such as offer letters, tuition reimbursement letters, and performance management documentation.
  • Monitor employee climate to identify issues/trends; seeking opportunities to increase engagement.
  • In conjunction with Chief Operating Officer, support leaders with various employee matters (performance, attendance, appreciation, etc.)
  • Work on various projects/initiatives (recognition, engagement, mental health, staff activities – e.g., Christmas Party, Administrative Professionals Day, and Retirements).

Desired skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5-years-experience in an HR Generalist role, ideally with a focus on Recruitment.
  • Current Chartered Professional of Human Resources (CPHR) designation preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
  • Trustworthy and approachable.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, positive thinker capable of adapting and responding to a rapidly growing environment.
  • Brand ambassador, strong communicator.
  • Previous experience working with HR Information Systems.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical skills.

We are growing and we need a talented person like you to join us! Our Kelowna office has an opening for a Legal Assistant, Commercial Transactions. This role will report to a variety of responsible lawyers. The Legal Assistant practice area skillset must include:

  • Commercial transactions, including buying and selling business of all sizes and high-value transactions
  • Business financing
  • Partnership Agreements
  • Shareholder Agreements
  • Lease Agreements

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer files, from open to close, supporting the requirements of the responsible lawyer
• Preparation of all documents required to facilitate the buying and selling of businesses, including both asset and share purchase and sales.
• Communicates with clients on file matters.
• Prioritize and diarize workflow to ensure completion of accurate work to meet external and internal deadlines.

    Qualifications:

    • Commercial business experience considered a key asset.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong work ethic, with demonstrated initiative.
    • Capable of multitasking and meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Solid technical skills.
