Russell Tse is an Associate and general solicitor at FH&P Lawyers. Raised in Kelowna, Russell graduated from Bond University (Faculty of Law) in Australia and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2019. Russell is unique as he provides legal services in both Vancouver and Kelowna.

Serving Vancouver—Russell has recently relocated to Vancouver to focus on building long-term relationships with local businesses, founders, and community organizations. He is keen to become a trusted legal partner for Vancouver clients.

Russell works with a wide range of entrepreneurs and technology companies across British Columbia. Russell regularly advises clients on protection strategies and best practices to secure IP ownership, confidential information and trade secrets, and how to structure agreements to safeguard innovation. He helps clients navigate and understand the IP landscape as it relates to business formation, growth, and transactions, ensuring that legal risks are managed and intellectual property is protected.

Russell is actively involved in the local innovation community and supports Accelerate Okanagan, a leading tech incubator, to help startups and early-stage ventures navigate the legal landscape unique to the tech sector.

Mergers and Acquisitions

In addition to his work with startups, Russell has a strong focus on mergers and acquisitions, Russell guides clients through the complexities of buying and selling businesses, providing strategic advice to identify and mitigate risks, protect against liability, and ensure that transactions close smoothly and in accordance with his clients’ objectives.

Fractional Corporate Counsel

Russell also serves as fractional corporate counsel to businesses seeking consistent legal support without the need to hire full-time in-house counsel. Through ongoing counsel arrangements—such as monthly retainers with a set number of hours—Russell helps organizations plan ahead, manage risk, and receive timely, practical answers to day-to-day legal questions as they arise.

General Solicitor Work

Russell’s practice includes corporate reorganizations, shareholder negotiations, commercial agreements, commercial leasing (including lease negotiations and drafting), real estate transactions, and wills and estates. He values strong, long-term relationships with his clients and provides clear, practical guidance that adapts as their needs evolve.

Away from work, Russell enjoys the outdoors with his dog, Otis, and can often be found hiking, golfing, skiing, or travelling for a surf.
